Tweeters support independent Parliamentary Budget Officer

Excerpt from "Heard on the Hill" by Bea Vongdouangchanh, the Hill Times, July 2 2012

Last Monday, two Twitter users took to online social media to start a Kevin Page Day, in an effort to get outspoken Parliamentary Budget Officer Kevin Page to stay in his post past 2013, and to raise awareness of NDP MP Peggy Nash's private member's bill to make the post a truly independent office of Parliament.

Brandon Laraby, whose Twitter handle is @BCLaraby, told HOH last week in an email that he and fellow Twitter user Faye Hansen (@Fansen) had the idea to start the campaign on June 24. It started with this tweet: "Hey, if we can make it happen I'm down for giving it a go. Let today be #KevinPage day!".
