OTTAWA – New Democrats are continuing to pressure the Conservative government to cancel devastating changes to employment insurance.
Last week, NDP Employment Insurance critic, Anne-Marie Day, tabled the following motion in the House:
“The Government of Canada must make sure that the United Nations fully investigates the Sri Lankan conflict,” Parkdale-High Park MP Peggy Nash told the audience at a film screening of Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields at the Revue Cinema on November 7th.
The event, which was co-hosted by Nash and Scarborough-Rouge River MP Rathika Sitsabaiesan, brought together over a hundred area constituents interested in learning more about the atrocities committed in Sri Lanka in recent years.
